Our voyage on the Alisa: the treasure was all on board.
Since childhood I have always been enchanted by the idea of being a pirate, so this opportunity to sail the Adriatic coast in an authentic Turkish gulet seemed a wonderful way to celebrate a milestone birthday. It was! Captain Mario and his crew could not have possibly been better hosts, welcoming us aboard and charming us with their kindness, humor, and knowledge of the sea and the area. Skillful Captain Mario, like the basketball player and fan that he is, pivoted around bad weather and sailed us into coves and protected areas whenever necessary to avoid rain and maximize the late-season sunshine. We woke to substantial breakfasts with excellent coffee as well as treats (donuts! pain-au-chocolat fresh from the bakery!) and ate hearty Croatian meals (soups, seafood pasta, gnocchi, tortellini) with lots of surprises including gelato and, yes, birthday cake. Board on the Alisa is breakfast and one large meal a day, and captain was so flexible about moving mealtime to accommodate what was happening in port, offering a substantial lunch when we planned a romantic dinner or there was a fish festival, and serving dinner (or "linner") to allow us an unbroken day sightseeing in port. He is an authoritative captain and yet takes the needs and requests of his passengers so seriously. He also was vigilant about our safety, during the week he carefully tended a tiny cut on my foot with disinfectant and a band aid and brought a guest to the doctor for a prescription that allowed him to feel better. Nothing is going to mar the experience for a guest on Captain M's watch! The Alisa is a beautiful and majestic ship; she is NOT a superyacht with white glove service and a stiff, formal, uncomfortable vibe. We enjoyed a week of casual fun and unforgettable experiences; experienced the sublime beauty of the crystal sea and spectacular coastline, and shared unforgettable memories, from sunsets and dolphins to squid fishing and spectacular falls from the SUP (stand up paddleboard). What a refreshing reset for a milestone birthday; what a rare and wonderful way for a childhood fantasy to come true.

Our cruise on Alisa with Mario and the crew was a perfect way to enjoy the beauty of the Croatian coast. Loved it!
We loved our time on Alisa with the crew! The cruise was very comfortable with our captain taking every effort to ensure we avoided any end-of-season weather issues and still visit beautiful spots for swimming and visiting sights. The pace was perfectly balanced for activities and relaxation time. A week on Alisa was a perfect way to escape tourist hordes and enjoy the beauty of Croatia.

A fantastic week aboard the Alisa
We loved travelling through the islands of Croatia, seeing them from the boat and our trips ashore. Swimming from the boat was fantastic and we also had a great time with the sea kayak and Sups. Food on board was delicious, a great breakfast spread with great coffee and delicious 4 course lunch. We really enjoyed staying at anchor in quiet locations but with flexible opportunities to visit the towns on the islands. Mario and crew really ensured we had a great week aboard the Alisa.

The islands we had a great mix of anchoring in quite bays for swimming and overnight with trips ashore to discover the beautiful islands. Cruising time each day was generally 4 h which was a nice amount of time to enjoy while still leaving plenty of time for swimming and site seeing ours which was a nice time to enjoy the.

Absolute Empfehlung!
