Built in Sulawesi, considered the “boatyard” of Indonesia, Jelajahi Laut is a beautiful phinisi boat constructed in 2021 with local teak wood and ironwood, ready to take you to the hottest dive spots in Indonesia. Jelajahi Laut means “Explore the Sea,” which she delivers with expeditions to Komodo, Raja Ampat, Banda Islands, Alor, and Ambon, to name a few. This traditional phinisi was designed by divers, optimizing the comforts for diver guests with a spacious equipment area and camera station, where you can gear up and prepare for your underwater adventure.
With 6 comfortable cabins onboard, Jelajahi Laut offers an intimate dive cruise for up to 14 guests with a sense of adventure who appreciate exploring the popular dive sites and some of the remote islands, local villages, and new dive sites. With a small, local team of dedicated boat crew and dive guides, the staff onboard Jelajahi Laut will invite you as part of their family, introducing you to their home in the Indonesian archipelago. A trip to remember
The 8 days in Raja Ampat exceeded all my expectations. Every dive site was unique and full of life, with an incredible variety of things to see. The dive guides were excellent – very professional and incredibly good at spotting species we would never have noticed ourselves. Safety was clearly a priority throughout the trip. Our guide Hanzo took great care of my group in every situation. The entire boat crew was fantastic – truly a diamond team. The boat was clean and comfortable, and the staff made us feel welcome from the very first moment. The atmosphere on board was relaxed, happy, and full of positive energy, and the music performances were an absolute highlight. The food was delicious, plentiful, and beautifully prepared and served. Overall, an amazing liveaboard experience that I would highly recommend to any diver visiting Raja Ampat.

Beautiful diving on a lovely boat!
Terrific boat and crew. Great safety practices and a wonderful onboard culture. This is a great mid-level experience....very comfortable....not the highest end luxury, but good value and good diving. I was both energized by amazing diving and relaxed by a very solid on-board experience. I would definitely dive with Makumba again....looking forward to their new boat in early 2027!

- Great crew culture! Supportive, helpful, and energetic.. Terrific dive sites...they worked hard to make sure we weren't diving with crowds and had meaningful dives.. Gorgeous upper deck cabin with a balcony. What a treat!.

From hotel pick-up to drop-off, everything was perfectly organized in a friendly atmosphere. The staff is very attentive and always very smiling, the chef, incredible, prepares delicious, varied and hearty meals.The dive guides are very efficient in finding beautiful things, thank you Hans for the octopuses!! Briefing at the top.The cruise directors are great, accommodating and helpful; we always equip ourselves with music. Thank you Eric for the playlist.Wonderful stay, thank you to the whole team!

Absolutely magical trip
I had the absolute best experience. The crew and diving instructures were very nice and competent and made every day magical. I can only recommend this boat to anyone interested in experiencing the ultimate liveaboard

Amazing experience
Dives sites were great, dive guides and instructors were amazing and very friendly, thank you @Salla, Abda and Hans! Very friendly environment for snorkels too! Excursions were perfect and we got to see some incredible places and views. Food was always very tasty and different, I wonder how the chef managed to cook so well in a tiny kitchen and limited ingredients. The rest of the crew was so nice too, all very friendly, always ready to help and to have a chat with. We even got the opportunity to watch them sing and playing instruments. So in the end the trip was great if not perfect. Nothing to complain about but on the contrary it felt like every little detail was carefully thought to give to all the guests the best experience possible. Every day is packed with lots of activities for a quite schedule but there’s always a bit of time to chill and just enjoy the sceneries passing by. Highly recommended trip! Great organization, Excellent diving, Comfortable and Enjoyable
I did a ten day trip on the J. L. And very much enjoyed it! The crew was always enthusiastic and on point. The trip was organized so we were able to dive all of the top sites in Komodo, but done in a way where we almost completely avoided crowds- something I didn’t think would be possible! They created a clear, consistent itinerary/daily schedule, and communication between crew and guests was excellent. The J. L is a comfy, homey boat where you can relax and just enjoy your time. Chef did great preparing a combination of Indonesian and western food. Meals are a combination of plated/buffet. While I wouldn’t call the boat ‘luxury’ the crew works hard to meet all of your needs and create a memorable experience. I’d recommend this boat/company time and time again.

Great 7day/ 6 night trip in Raja! Would do it again with this crew!
Amazing diving! Top notch crew and dive guides, plenty of food, comfortable cabins, lots of space on the boat for relaxing. Safety was the top priority with a briefing for the boat on day one and dive briefings before each dive. Accommodates up to 14 guests, which was the perfect sizer for me. Chef prepared great meals with a bounty at each sitting! Eric and Camie are top notch cruise directors and the staff was warm, welcoming, and great to hang out with.

Best, liveaboard experience ever
Everything about this trip was fantastic. The crew really made it special with everything from amazing service and taking care of us to the absolutely phenomenal food and being able to spend some moments with the crew and the captain playing the guitar and them singing our excursions and the barbecue They set up for us on the beach was breathtaking. We got rained on but it was still amazing... A truly spectacular trip
