Nice experience
We had a very lovely stay at Manta Queen 8. Guides and crew were friendly and professional. The only thing is that the boat is really outdated and it should be renovated for sure. The value for money is fair but in my opinion people will pay more for kind of service and experience. The boat cabins and bathrooms are longing for repair.

Meh, less than average. The crew made the trip, not the dives or the guides.
A hard pressed average at best. The boat is dated and needs attention and upgrades. Our power went out at least once a day and the breaker had to be flipped. A couple of the guides were engaging and amazing. The others kept to themselves in the ac salon and seemed more irritated with groups than not. Our guide was more interested in taking pictures and showing the critter to other guides than involving the divers in that group. I was taking pictures and stated I love macro. Being a seasoned diver, worked as a guide/instructor, and been on other liveaboards, we were both not impressed and will not come back or recommend this boat. Our power went out at least once a day. The crew and kitchen staff were amazing. Not much English spoken and we had more fun with them than with the guides and on the dives. The sites are average and repetative. The northern sites were extremely crowded with day trippers. No remote sites with this boat.

Budget friendly option with some hidden gems
Fun and laid back trip on the Manta Queen 8. Dive sites of good quality but how much you will see and what you will get out of it depends on your dive guide. On our boat there was a mix, some very experienced and excellent at pointing things out, others less so. This is the only reason for giving the diving 3 stars. On some dives, some of the guides seemed unfamiliar with the site or just disinterested. Whilst others were incredibly switched on taking the time to ensure their divers saw the best stuff. Can’t knock the food on the boat tho, it was incredible! During our trip mix of weather and conditions but the team always worked hard to find safe solutions so we could keep diving. Thai crew were also amazing, often going above and beyond. At the end of the trip there is a tip box for the crew, recommend getting cash out for this as you will want to tip for their good service. The boat is dated but I think the affordability of the price fairly reflects this. Dive sites were all of a pretty good quality. Obviously over 19 dives some varied from “meh” to “Amazing!!”. If you are a coral lover heaps to see. Saw a range of marine life over the trip. Were not officially in whale shark on manta season so none saw. Some current and surge, may be tough for beginner divers but nothing obscene. Visibility was also good considering the amount of rain. Recomend staying closer to the dive shop than farther away. The transit is arranged but is a minivan so will pick up others along the way. The further you are away the longer this will probably take.

it's ok!
overall a very good experience. The boat is a bit old and needs renovation. Cabin is just essential, but honestly... who cares when you spend most of the time underwater and in common areas. So for people that do no need fancy stuffs and extreme comfort is more than ok

A really fun trip on a great boat
The dive sites were really good, the only issue was the visibility was sometimes poor. There was a lot of fish to watch. If the visibility had been better then these would be world class sites.
