Croatian island hopping in a beautiful boat

A great small boat cruise to see the beautiful Croatian islands and some mainland ports .
We were not sure about cruising at all with not wanting to travel on larger cruise ships but we were attracted to island hopping on a much smaller boat . We were not disappointed , luckily the weather was good , the sea was calm and our fellow multinational passengers were very nice . The cabin was very comfortable , food great and a super crew . Croatia is a beautiful country .

This is by far the best way to see Croatia, and you don’t have to stress about planning cause the crew takes care of it! There was 3 days where we stopped in two towns and I felt like I got to explore everything at my own pace, and all the swim stop were amazing!

We had a great trip aboard the MS Orkan! The crew was very friendly and helpful and you easily make contact with the other guests. The cabins are small but have everything you need including air conditioning and electricity. Breakfast and lunch were well taken care of (compliments to cook Antonio) and the prices for drinks on board were very reasonable. We have seen a lot. Croatia is a beautiful country and the captain stopped in nice bays for a swim. Snorkeling is highly recommended. The guides in the cities are very friendly and give good information. The weather deviated a bit from the normal sailing route, but the alternatives that captain Demir had found were more than worth it!

Paying 800 euros for this 1 week trip is very good. But you have to add 42 euros per person taxes, drinks and tips (700 euros per cabin recommended)The crew was just great. A delightful week on a small ship with a personal touch
This was a really wonderful trip – one of the highlights of our time in Europe! It was very refreshing and relaxing. We enjoyed the lovely scenery, the quaint small towns and their history, the swimming, and spending time with the staff/crew and our fellow passengers on board. We loved relaxing on the partly shaded sun deck, and we really liked the back swim deck on the Kapetan Kuka, along with the two paddle boards for passengers to share.
The food was very good (and there was lots of food - we would have been happy with half as much to eat). Everyone on board was friendly and helpful. At first our narrow cabin with the bunk beds seemed small, but we quickly realized that didn’t matter, because we spent all our time in the lovely outdoor and indoor spaces on the ship, or in the water, or exploring ashore. We really enjoyed being on a family-run ship which felt like being on a historic yacht instead of a floating hotel.
We recommend this cruise to anyone who wants to really experience the local people and culture and explore hidden gems that big ships can’t go to.

Best combination of towns and swim stops from Trogir to Dubrovnik
This boat was not overcrowded, not too many guests so it felt personal and friendly. The Captain really watched out for our comfort, e.g altered plans to keep us away from windy routes. The docking sites were the perfect combination of small towns and islands, as if they read my mind what I had planned to see. The swim stops were in the best secluded coves the water was amazing.

We sailed on the Orcan from Split to Dubrovnik, we were 14 holidaymakers. Atmosphere and very quiet cruiseThe disconnection is total from the beginning. Stopovers every end of the day in a different port, three city tours were included in the trip. From Dubrovnik to the tiny village, we savored every day. Sailing in the morning, breakfast in front of the passing landscapes and then a swimming stop in magnificent coves. Buoys for swimming stops would be welcome. Lunch on the boat prepared by a very good cook and served by Marco, our always smiling waiter. We were able to enjoy the deckchairs which were in sufficient number on deck. Waking up is often early because of the noise of the engine and the crew being activated because the boat usually leaves the ports around 6am. A unique experience that we recommend.

Relaxing, slow pace.
This trip is great if you want to spend your days relaxing, sunning, watching beautiful scenery go by. The boat doesn’t have bikes, kayaks to use. The SUPs could have been pumped up to use.
The Captain went for fresh bread most mornings for breakfast in the European tradition of fresh baguette every day, but don’t expect much from the food aboard. Some mornings that the boat left port later, we got off of the boat for cappuchino & croissants.

Docking at small villages each night.. Stopping in small, uninhabited coves for a swim.. Walking tours of some of the villages we stopped in..

Great trip -beautiful islands -too little shore time to explore
The highlights for me were seeing the dolphins swim very close to the boat and the beautiful islands of Cres,Lošinj,Dorgu,Rab and Kirk
The guests were mainly none English speaking other than ourselves but there was another Dutch/American couple that spoke excellent English and with whom we could chat.
We were lucky with the weather which was hot and sunny but the only negative for us was the extremely limited time ashore at the islands.
The swimming stops were almost uniformly 6 hours long from 10am through to 4pm meaning we arrived at the islands around 5pm and within 2 -2and a half hours it was dark -the boat would then leave very early every morning at 7-8 am giving us precious little time to explore during daylight ashore.
We were always the last boat to dock at an island and the first one to leave and this reduced time to explore our destination was a massive negative on what was otherwise a great value holiday.
So our recommendation to Idriva is LESS swimming time ( who wants to swim for 6 hours each day?) and earlier arrival into the beautiful ports and more time to look around and explore ashore

The northern Croatian islands are beautiful. The food on board was generally good although breakfasts very repetitive and little in the way of eggs/bacon/sausage. The prices of drinks on board were very reasonable.
