Highlights
The MV Sea Hunter Liveaboard is a purpose built vessel offering year-round diving in Cocos Island. She is an incredibly stable and robust vessel and also has 'zero speed stabilisers' which are lowered into the water when she is moored to give added stability, making the M/V Sea Hunter an ideal choice for diving in Costa Rica. She has 8 standard cabins located on the lower deck with the choice of twin or double beds, which are air-conditioned, carpeted throughout and come with en-suite bathrooms. On the upper deck are 2 double suites with panoramic views, en-suite bathrooms, AC, carpet and each suite has hand-painted artwork by Carlos Hiller on the walls.
Social areas aboard the MV Sea Hunter include the lounge fitted with chairs, long, padded seating areas for sitting, DVDs, videos, games and more, as well as the mini-bar. The dining room has five, 4-person booths arranged in two rows, and is where the menu of a combination of American and local Costa Rican cuisine is served, including fresh tropical fruits, salads, fish, chicken, beef prepared in a variety of ways. There is also a study, which provides a relaxed atmosphere and extensive library, as well as a video and digital photography editing suite.
MV Sea Hunter itineraries in Costa Rica are 10 or 11-nights long giving divers the opportunity to really experience Cocos Island to its fullest. Due to the remote location of Cocos Island, the diving is pristine, marine life is abundant and divers can expect to see schooling white tip reef sharks, schooling hammerhead, dolphins, manta rays, sailfish and much more. Diver facilities have been well designed to ensure maximum comfort. Each diver is allocated individual gear storage and under-seat storage, as well as personal camera lockers and free Nitrox is included for certified divers.

great trip in Cocos
We had really great dives at Cocos, full of hammerheads and other species ! The skiff drivers and dive instructors really try to give you a great experience - short stops on sea after spotting wildlife or even stops to see different places of the islands (waterfalls, etc - stayed on the boat) The boat is very nicely designed with a place for everything. All you need is onboard. The crew was amazing, very helpful, always in a good mood. Food was great too : healthy and different everyday !

Cocos - a dream destination repeated
This is my 2nd trip to Cocos seeing it was so mindblowing the first time. I was with a different operator last time, and in low season (apparently, but still incredible then as well). I must commend Seahunter for a really top notch operation, well laid out skiffs with room to move about, clean and extremely well kept boat and amazing food (healthy and varied). The lack of 1 star is due only due to rather japanese style hard matresses in some cabins...And I can normally sleep anywhere The crew also genuinly seemed to care we had a good time. Very friendly, engaged and interested. I will definitly return to this operator. Now the diving: hampered by really bad viz first part of the 8 days (This was a 10 day trip), but luckily it picked up. Rainy season really means RAINY, torrential rain throughout. No need for suntan lotion. Amazing big animal encounters, so if you like action diving with current, blue, and big game, this is for you. The island itself is also stunning, and just being so far away from the world, with Jurrasic park scenery, no mobil reception, letting it all hang out in tracky bottoms and watching the birds and the occasional thunderstorms...Well, lets say skip two trips to the Carribean and and save up to do this instead. It will blow your mind! As small end note: Its not easy diving though, so be prepared to be a bit bruised and battered. Very much worth the effort though, whalesharks, hammers a plenty, tigers, schools of trevally so big it must have been in the thousands...marbel rays falling on you from every angle...just magic!

A great trip!
Not the high season and El Nino this year, but guides did wonderful jobs to find hummer heads and many other small stuff like frog fish.
