Excellent trip
The overall experience has been excellent and worth the money we payed it for. Both the boat and the crew have met expectations: we appreciated food and snacks in particular. The island barbecue is one of the highlights of the trip. The itinerary and the divesites are varied and almost all of them excellent (we would have liked a few less manta stations and I would avoid the wreck dive). We appreciate the job done by the diveguides as well, always professional while prioritizing everybody's safety. Unfortunately we didn't get to see any whale sharks, but we've sure seen plenty of mantas, grey reef, whitetip and nurse shark, even a tiger shark in hulumalé.

Amazing diving trip in the Maldivian Central Atolls
Amazing diving trip in the Maldivian Central Atolls. We did a good mix of dives in channels, lagoons, cleaning stations and night dives. The crew were very nice and super friendly. The food was amazing!

Just brilliant...
Carpe Diem is a very well oiled machine. Everything is meticulously planned and things happen seamlessly. The crew are experienced, caring and great fun and never once made us feel like we were just another bunch of clients. We really felt special! They give the best dive briefings we have ever had and nothing is left to chance. A current check before every dive means no surprises. And when there IS a surprise, the crew swing into action. I had an altercation with a Moray eel that resulted in the need for an emergency ascent and a trip to hospital for stitches. I can't thank Munkko and the crew enough for their care and concern and the professional way in which they handled the incident. I felt completely safe in what was a pretty freaky experience. For the boat, the food was excellent and abundant - they cater really well for all tastes and food orientations. The cabins were spacious and comfortable and the bathrooms were plenty big enough to share. With a maximum of 20 guests the boat never feels crowded and there are lots of spaces where you can hide out and read a book or check your photos. We went on the Best of Maldives safari which cruised both north and south of Male. The mantas were simply spectacular and we saw enough sharks to last a lifetime! But for the macro lover there are some lovely pinnacle tops with plenty of clownfish living in the most iridescent pink anemones I have ever seen. We found a couple of nudibranchs, so don't leave your strobe behind thinking there won't be any macro life. But it was the fish life that really was the star. I think the fact that people on our trip were back for the second, third or fourth time speaks for itself. This was a brilliant experience

Great Dive Week
We had a great week on Carpe Diem. Helpful and friendly service/staff, excellent food, food choices left nothing to be desired, even for vegetarians. The captain and dhoni crew did a great job navigating difficult weather conditions, as did the dive guides. Special thanks to Munkko! He is very knowledgable and a lot of fun to dive with.

It was great
The overall experience was fantastic. We explored some fantastic reefs and I made new friends. Highlights were 50+ mantas at hanifaru bay, multiple whale sharks, tiger sharks, hammerhead sharks, 50+ nurse sharks, lemon sharks, spinner sharks, grey reef sharks, blacktip reef sharks, whitetip reef sharks, stims of eagle rays, stingrays, napoleonfish, octopus, scorpionfish, mantis shrimp, turtles and beautiful macro life. The 2 nightdives were thrilling too! The beach bbq was amazing and my dive guide Naveen was really fun to dive with. We ended up doing 24 dives and a snorkel/freediving session at hanifaru bay. This trip really overdelivered!

Mixed feelings
I only enjoyed the liveaboard to a limited extent. The boat, food, cleanliness etc. was really okay to very good. The dives, which is what I was there for, were rather so-so. Firstly, the choice of dive sites was not so good, secondly, we were usually put in the water so far from the dive site that we had to swim for 15-20 minutes in the middle of nowhere at a depth of 20-25 meters. And really in such a way that there was neither a reef nor anything else nearby. Once it even happened that the dive guides got lost and we had to interrupt the dive after 30 minutes. Overall I still had a lot of fun, the crew and the dive guides were very friendly and we had a mega group of divers from all over the world!
