The Mandarin Queen 9 (Jovanna) is a 37.5-meter/123-foot-long liveaboard, offering diving adventures across the Andaman Sea. It features 13 spacious cabins—8 on the upper deck and 5 on the lower deck—accommodating 26 guests. The master cabins on both decks come with queen-size beds and en-suite bathrooms. The twin cabins also offer en-suite bathrooms, with the upper deck cabins boasting sea views. Each cabin has air conditioning, a television, a closet, and amenities like towels, a hair dryer, and bottled water.

Guests will enjoy 4 expansive decks, including a sun deck with a hot tub and sunbathing area. The camera room has five workstations, rinse tanks, and a dive platform. Amazing experience with my dive leader and all staff onboard
I had a great time onboard the Mandarin Queen 9. My dive leader Teuy is very experienced, has excellent communication skills and a fun personality. All staff are friendly and professional, always ready to help. Another highlight is the Thai style buffets we had onboard. There are 3 full meals a day and morning and afternoon snacks. We were very well fed during the trip.

Great liveaboard
I had a great time on this liveaboard. We went on October. We didn’t see pelagic fish but there was a dive with black tip sharks. The guides were funny, knowledgeable and really nice. The group of divers was congenial. The cabin was comfortable and the food was great.

4 dives per day on the best vessel for diving in Thailand,with 2 big dinghys in aluminium .It was very easy to dive .we carry nothing. This vessel was a great surprise new and well done with a very good crew

The best choice for North Andaman!
It was our first liveaboard experience and we loved Mandarin Queen team and we are sure that we did a really nice choice by choosing them. Everything was very comfortable and the team was just amazing! We have been diving for many years and our dive guide, Toky, was the most experienced and relaxed guy we have ever seen. The rooms and decks were super comfortable and there were super delicious 4 -5 courses food everyday. The staff prepared all the equipment for us, we just wore them and jumped into the water. I highly recommend Mandarin Queen 9. Special thanks to Toky, Picknik and all the staff on board.

Best dives I’ve ever had
I had the best time on mandarin queen 9. The all experience from start to finish was amazing. The boat crew was so nice always strive to give us the best experience, as a vegetarian they always make sure I have something to eat and made special meals for me. The dive masters were the best I dived with and I was pleasure to dive with and the free nitrox was the cherry on the top. If you want to do liveaboard in Thailand don’t think twice and go dive with mandarin queen 9

Excellent boat. Very attentive to diver needs. Fantastic range and amount of food. Excellent dive briefings for each dive site. Diving was great but challenging currents at times and generally below 20m.

My first liveaboard experience and I could not have chosen better. The boat was spacious with plenty of room to relax, and the onboard entertainment room with massage chairs and an ice cream machine was a fantastic bonus. The service from the crew was impeccable, and the food was consistently amazing with a memorable Mookata night and a Barbecue night as highlights. The dive guides were friendly and professional and even brought their own camera rigs to capture incredible photos for us. Visibility was not ideal during our trip due to post-typhoon conditions, but that was completely outside of the crew’s control. Overall, a truly fantastic experience and I would happily return.

Unforgetable liveaboard at Similan Islands.
Modern boat facilities. Food and beverage services were great and avaliable all the time. The boat and the room was clean all the time. The boat staff and dive instructors were awesome and generous. Our diving instructor “Farm” was an incredible person, amazing diver and super friendly, we loved him. We loved the experience and already want to repeat.

An unforgettable liveaboard experience – absolutely outstanding!
I had an incredible time on this liveaboard. Everything was perfectly organized, the Queen Mandarin 9 was in excellent condition, and both the diving and the life on board exceeded all expectations. The equipment provided was high-quality, well-maintained, and the lovely crew took care of absolutely everything: helping with entering and exiting the water, setting up and removing equipment, carrying and cleaning gear, and always being there with a smile. The cabins were clean, comfortable, and air-conditioned, making the stay even more relaxing. We were spoiled with delicious food around the clock – several warm buffet-style meals a day, plenty of snacks like chips and instant dishes, and even an ice cream machine. A special shout-out goes to the kitchen and cleaning staff, who worked tirelessly in the background to make this smooth and enjoyable experience possible. Between dives, there was never a dull moment: a big TV with a wide media library, two massage chairs, a PS5, a Nintendo Switch, and lots of cozy spaces to relax or find privacy. Truly the perfect setup for comfort and entertainment. The dive sites were spectacular, with highlights like Koh Bon and Richelieu Rock, offering an incredible variety of marine life – from schooling fish and vibrant reefs to breathtaking macro sightings. Another major highlight: during the dives, the dive masters captured professional photos and videos, giving everyone unforgettable memories to take home. The group itself was a wonderful mix of ages and nationalities, creating a warm, friendly, and fun atmosphere where everyone connected and shared experiences. In short: a beautifully organized, welcoming, and absolutely unforgettable liveaboard adventure. I can recommend it 100%, and I would return in a heartbeat.

Good trip on comfortable boat
In general, it was a good trip. I would highly recommend to my friends if the floor of the meals dining deck was as clean as the dive deck (the same level as laundry room), which is cleaned after every dive using vacuum cleaner. There were bits of food and spilt drinks on the floor whole day so I guess it is only cleaned once a day. The cabin is well-lit and spacious but for a new boat, the toilet could be better maintained. The taps are already covered with lime and there are no grab bars for rocky situations. The toilet flush is also old fashion - I have taken boats where you can flush paper into the toilet because they have a system to handle the waste. Other than that, the crew were all very helpful and friendly. There was sufficient variety of snacks and drinks. The dive boats were in good condition, clean and comfortable. The dive deck had cables and ropes trailing on the floor, which made is tricky to walk. It would be nice to have more space to sit and gear up but it could have been the strong waves and wind that prevented us from gearing up at the dive deck. I appreciate the crew for their hard work and attentiveness, and safe diving practices.

The North Andaman Sea is an absolute gem, home to an incredible variety of dive sites bursting with vibrant marine life, every dive felt like a new adventure. But what truly made this trip unforgettable was the phenomenal crew onboard. Their attention to detail was second to none, with everything running like clockwork thanks to their seamless organisation and clear, friendly communication. The boat was not only well-equipped with all the facilities we needed, including thoughtful touches like dedicated camera stations, but the crew went above and beyond to make us feel cared for. They proactively labelled our dive gear with our names and were always ready to lend a hand, helping us gear up with such ease and efficiency that all we had to do was focus on enjoying the dives. Their warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality turned a great trip into an extraordinary one.

Great experience
We were satisfied and happy that we chose Mandarin Queen 9 for our first liveaboard. There were movies and games available in-between dives and at night after dives to pass time. Food was great. Free flow snacks and drinks. Alcohol was available onboard and affordable. Crew was experienced and great and always made sure we were comfortable. Dive conditions were not the best but that’s not something that can be controlled but was still good!

A wonderful experience made even better by an exceptional crew
The trip with the Mandarin Queen to the North Andaman Sea was spectacular. The boat itself is very new, well made, and full of amenities that make the experience on board super smooth and very enjoyable. The cabins were large with private bathrooms and aircon at all times. The crew made sure that we were cared for and entertained at all times, from washing our dive towels, cooking great meals and snacks and beating us at Mario Kart. Due to choppy seas we could not spend the planned 4 dives of the 3rd day at Richelieu Rock, but the Manager PicNic made sure that we got some great other dive spots and so we still got some amazing dives done. The crew also took photos of all divers underwater with professional photo gear so that everyone gets some pictures to take home. All in all, it was a truly great experience and we would recommend it 10/10!

Great experience that will stay with us for a lifetime.
Dive guides, briefings, kitchen and all assistants, so the entire staff was without exception extremely professional and pleasant. Despite some not easy diving conditions, we always felt absolutely safe. Everyone is excellently rehearsed and the processes are absolutely smooth. The boat is excellently equipped and divided. Each participant finds his or her place. Whether on the sun deck, in the entertainment room, in the dining area or in your own cabin. The beds are super comfortable, the food varied and always delicious.The cabins are difficult to ventilate. Moisture after showering is therefore an issue. Quite hard cleaning agents are therefore used. We have gotten used to it and have no idea how to solve it differently. This is certainly the same on all ships. The Mandarin Queen 9 is therefore an absolutely unreserved recommendation!

Superb
The organization for diving and the tenders to reach the diving spots are among the most comfortable and well organized I have seen. Never had to wait once geared up or to be picked up at the end of the dive. The corals are in a quite good condition and the dives are easy and beautiful. We were not lucky to find big pelagics. I appreciated to have local food, and there was plenty of it. Super clean boat and very efficient and friendly crew. One of the best boats I have experienced.

Unforgettable Diving Experience with Mandarin Queen 9
We had an incredible time aboard the Mandarin Queen 9, exploring the stunning dive sites of the North Andaman Sea over four days. With 15 dives in total, we were fortunate to have fantastic weather, excellent visibility, and mild currents, making each dive truly spectacular. The crew was outstanding—friendly, professional, and always ensuring our safety and comfort. Everything was well-organized, yet the schedule never felt rushed. With four dives a day, we still had plenty of time to relax and soak in the beautiful surroundings. The food was exceptional - plentiful, fresh, and delicious, with a great variety of salads, fruits, and hot dishes daily. My friend, who is vegetarian, was especially impressed by the care taken to prepare separate, equally delicious meals for her. The boat itself was spacious and well-equipped, all en-suite rooms, offering a comfortable and enjoyable stay. A special shoutout to Picnic, the manager, whose dedication and hospitality truly made our trip even more memorable. Excellent Boat, Excellent Dive Master, Excellent Food!
Our whole trip onboard MQ9 was an amazing experience. On arrival we were shown to our cabin and shortly after is when the 'snacks' started. We were fed like royalty the whole trip, with food in between dives being of a very high standard. The galley staff worked morning until night preparing extensive thai and foreign dishes catering to all of our post dive craves! We met our Boat Manager Picnic on arrival who took care of us for the duration of the trip. We were assigned have Tony as a Dive Master who was an absolute weapon at knowing his way around the reef. If I could recommend anyone to pick a local DM who knows every rock on the reef and has an eye for finding all of the marine life that the Similan Islands offer, I would suggest you request him. He was creative with every dive, always a pleasure to be around and really made the trip! I will see you again soon, Scott & Enora

Luxury Ship
The Mandarin Queen is a very beautiful ship, she offers a lot of luxury. Only the cabin was not very clean and the shower needed a renovation. Otherwise everything is great! The two dive boats are also great and the dive service was perfect. The bath towels are always ready after diving and are dried again after each use. The food was varied and delicious and the staff always very friendly and helpful. We would definitely come back to this ship.

Excellent Dive Platform
This is not a luxury boat, but its function as a dive boat is superior. A well organized dive platform, great rental gear, space to store stuff, and the crew who took care of everything is what makes a great boat. Most importantly, the boat tender that dropped divers at the dive sites was EXCELLENT. Most other boats have little zodiacs, but Mandarin's steel hull tenders did well during the storms we experienced. They are safer and more comfortable. Our dive guide Tuey was wonderful. Food was good. The chef took great care in accommodating our vegan diets. The saloon has a nice TV for movies and a separate gaming TV. Super comfortable sofas and blankets. Rooms are basic and small, but we enjoyed the large window and the TV was nice when the weather was bad.

This is a perfect liveaboard trip!
This is my third time on a liveaboard! Second time to Similan! It was also the most amazing of the four! The boat is new, the environment is really nice and reasonable! Everyone can find their own space on the boat, the room is nice and clean! And they are all equipped with TVs, and when there is no signal, there are also intimate movies prepared to make it less boring! Every area was well cleaned by the crew! Everyone is friendly and caring! The second is the food on board! You can eat five meals a day and you don't have to repeat them! I can feel that everyone is preparing food very carefully, as well as hot pot, barbecue, BBQ! It really amazed me! I also saw that the manager of the boat, PicNic, was very careful in his operation, taking into account the feelings of every diver! In short, these days I am hungry to get on the boat and eat to get off the boat. Even started to miss the food on board! In addition, each dive guide is conscientious and responsible, and will take amazing diving photos for everyone!! It was a very satisfying trip! We expect to be back in March or April next year!
