Diving the Maldives the Italian Way
Maldives Italian style... we had a wonderful time on the Princess Rani. The route was carefully selected to cover the most beautifully, fun, and challenging chanel and thila dives in the south Maldives. In addition to our groups being small, we never once shared a dive site with another boat due to their excellent scheduling. When not diving we had great times at local beaches or hanging out on the boat. The outdoor Italian dining made me feel I had a reservation at the best table at a fine Italian restaurant with 20 good friends every evening.

Amazing
This was a great dive trip and both my wife and I enjoyed diving with princess rani. The food was great, the dive masters were knowledgeable and helpful, and the facilities were better than expected. It was nice having multiple spots outside of our room to relax between dives and our room was also really comfortable too.

Deep South Route Review. Many pros but also many cons.
Pros: - great cabins - food (Italian) is delicious - crew is incredibly friendly Cons: - only 14 dives on Deep South, some days were just wasted in the harbour or for "time to relax" when we could have been diving or have the option to dive, it is a scuba diving liveaboard afterall - Deep South only has 2 tiger shark dives zoo/plateau. The tiger zoo dive was amazing but also crammed because they put all Princess Rani and Princess Haleema divers down at the same time to the same small spot to save cost. 40 divers is a way too much imho. - rental gear is old and plastic rings etc. very prone to braking so it is quite overpriced for what is offered - safety is taken more lightly compared to other Asian diving destinations - not much information was given by the tour operator about boarding times, dive spots and their difficulty. The pdf shared was even for the wrong route.

Blue Water Hammers and Tigers!
The best dives for me were in the blue on the southern fringes of Fuvahmulah. Lots of schooling hammerheads, occasional tiger encounters. Tiger zoo is fantastic, but not as exhilarating as the blue. Like an underwater performance following a script/protocol. Obviously to keep 20+ divers safe from feasting sharks. An essential part of the trip, like seeing the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Beds were rock solid. Counter snacks (available anytime) were non existent. Would have been nice to have a cookie or biscuit with a cup of tea whenever one pleased. Food timing is whacky. Dinner at 8:30pm? 3 courses until 9:30pm, then bed immediately after all that. Wake up usually 6:30 or 7am. Definitely need to move dinner to 7pm. 8:30pm is ridiculously late.
