Highlights
The M/Y Aqua liveaboard in the Galapagos offers the choice of 7-night diving itineraries or 3, 4 or 5-night naturalist itineraries. Nine cabins spread over 3 decks cater to 16 guests onboard and a choice of twin or matrimonial bedding. Each room features a private en-suite bathroom, individually controlled air-conditioning, and storage space. Main and upper deck cabins also have picture windows to offer sea views. Social areas dotted around the yacht include a shaded outside lounge, sun deck, indoor lounge, and library and dining area. The cuisine served on board combines local Ecuadorian and international cuisine.
A wide range of activities is included in all itineraries, giving guests a chance to get up close and experience the unique wildlife of the Galapagos Islands. Naturalist cruises include guided hikes, bird-watching, and incredible photography opportunities. Divers will be blown away by the amazing marine biodiversity, with the chance to see whale sharks, schooling hammerheads, and even Mola Mola. A spacious dive deck has plenty of room for kitting up and gear storage. Two diving tenders make diving from the MY Aqua a comfortable experience, and enriched air nitrox is available for those certified. Divers will also receive a personal marine rescue GPS, a storm whistle, a diving beacon, and a surface marker tube for added safety and peace of mind.
Note: 50 logged dives is the minimum required experience for the Aqua, due to the more advanced conditions of certain dive sites.

EPIC!!!
This is my 6th liveaboard trip and I have to say the crew and service when above and beyond! The staff was always present to help get in and out of our gear. Our rooms were cleaned twice a day. Warm clean towels were provided after EVERY dive, and the water was piping hot the second you turned on the shower. The food was delicious and our DM's Jesus and Christian were attentive and wonderful. Christian who is a naturalist also knew when and where to see the pelagics. I was also happy to see that most guests were aged 20-40 yrs old on this trip! Thank you, Aqua for an amazing experience!!!

Epic.
The staff and service was amazing. Very friendly and helped with gearing up and down. Food was delicious, freshly made, and each meal had a variety of options plus they accommodated all food diets. Diving was awesome. Whale sharks, sea lions, Marine Iguanas, hundreds of hammerheads. We did an impromptu snorkeling with pilot whales and dolphins.

Fabulous trip that delivered everything lt promised
The Aqua is a fine boat with a great crew, fabulous food, and the same diving itinerary as more expensive boats, with just one significant drawback -- tiny cabins. I was lucky enough to have a cabin for myself because there were only 13 divers on the boat (out of 16 max capacity), and my trip was perfect. If I'd had to share the cabin, it would have been a challenge, though other solo travelers who shared a cabin still said that on balance they had a great trip.

- Professional operation, great crew. Best food I've ever had on a liveaboard. Encountered whale sharks, countless hammerheads, around 20 molas, half a dozen mantas, marine iguanas, sea lions and fur seals underwater ... but also orcas, pilot wales, and false killer whales from the boat..

An affordable Galapagos liveaboard
Galapagos liveaboards tend to be quite expensive, even when certain trips go on sale. Aqua, however, is more reasonably-priced, even when it is not on sale. So getting this trip on sale made my goal of diving the Galapagos even more financially viable. Of course, sometimes you get what you pay for. This affordable Galapagos liveaboard definitely cuts corners compared to my liveaboard experiences in other destinations. These were nonetheless mostly manageable sacrifices that I could live with, like paying extra for soft drinks. My main gripe was with the guides and the timing and execution of dives. As I understand it, most Galápagos liveaboard use freelancers that rotate amongst the various boats, so what I have to say may not apply to your future trips on this boat. The guides kept dives far shorter than necessary in the name of safety, even though we could have safely remained at depth within the NDLs for much longer. They also had a tendency to lead us out into the open blue water in fruitless searches for schools of hammerheads. Most of the hammerheads that we saw were in smaller groups closer to the reef; we would have been better off staying there.

Hammerheads everywhere
The rental gear was great, it was the nicest wetsuit I'd ever used, we were plenty warm. The crew was great, the people who went on this boat were a blast and the animals we saw under water were unforgettable. Soooooo many hammerheads!

One of the best diving destination
Aqua boat is a mid range boat buy it's quite comfortable and the staff is nice and helpful. The Hammerhead sharks were fantastic but the diving is not easy because of currents and the cold water.

Great experience even with bad timing
Lots of whale sharks, some hammerheads. Unfortunately the much warmer than anticipated waters made finding the wildlife more challenging.

Fantastic value Liveaboard!
The crew and guides on Aqua were fantastic, ensuring we maximized all of our dives. This boat has less frills than some other larger liveaboards, but the value is hard to beat! I would recommend to anyone that wants to dive the Galapagos and wants to save a bit without sacrificing on excellent diving.
