Highlights
Join the Blackbeard's Sea Explorer to dive into the crystal-clear waters of the Bahamas. Perfect for single travelers on a budget, the Blackbeard's Sea Explorer, the identical twin sister of Blackbeard's Morning Star, a member of the Blackbeard's Fleet, offers 3 dormitory-style cabin areas with 18 bunks and 3 shared bathrooms. Each cabin area has AC, and all are sectioned off with privacy curtains, similar to a sleeper cabin on a train. There is a choice of double or single bunks. Buffet meals with picnic-style dining are served in the air-conditioned salon, and all meals, snacks, and drinks, including beer, wine, and rum punch, are included during your stay.
Blackbeard's Sea Explorer trips include diving with sharks, exhilarating drift diving, beautiful walls, and blue holes around the Exuma Cays. There is no set itinerary aboard the Sea Explorer liveaboard; the captain and crew will take the boat where the conditions and weather are best. Plenty of non-diving activities are on offer, so your time above the water will be just as memorable as below.
Book online to reserve your space aboard Blackbeard's Sea Explore liveaboard, or call us today.
Please Note: Morning Star and Sea Explorer are identical twin sisters and may be used interchangeably. Whilst we can take requests for specific bunks, they are not guaranteed, and the rate is per person, not per bunk.

Awesome, great-value on a budget dive trip. Highly recommended.
The divemaster was funny and gave the best briefings. Our cook was an alchemist in the little galley. The crew was awesome and the Captain was very competent and experienced.

- Crew was fantastic and created a positive, fun environment.. Food was plentiful and delicious.. Very reasonable policies towards diving, according to diver experience and proficiency levels, including allowing solo diving to those holding appropriate credentials and equipment..

The best Camping on the Sea Experience
This is my first time on a Liveaboard and living the experience of living a week on a boat with strangers. It definitely exceeded my expectations as I was a little skeptical about the experience. Unfortunately I did not choose the best season since Captain Chris had to constantly change the itinerary to find the best diving conditions and be safe to spend the night, but he did an amazing job I felt in very good hands, he knows the place and the boat like the back of his hand. The trip ended earlier than expected due to bad weather and there was not much of a plan B for the remaining days, but I was lucky to share with a group of exceptional people who definitely made my experience unique and unforgettable and we improvised fun things to do. Each diving brief was explained in detail by Tom, which made navigation easy and enjoyable without setbacks, he definitely is very experienced and knows every dive site in detail even helping us identify the marine life on each spot, his passion for the underwater world was transmitted to us at each place we arrived. Eli made sure everything run smoothly and his positive energy is super contagious, also when welcoming us after the dives he showed interest on what encounters we had in the underwater world. Chef Gunnar prepared each meal and snacks with a lot of dedication, totally admirable with the bad weather and the movement of the boat that he was able to create such a varied and wonderful menu, i think that the food was my favorite part besides diving. Barry as Divemaster was always very friendly and had a positive vibe with a smile even when we forgot to take off the bungee before putting the first stage so i really appreciated the kinder approach as it was my first liveaboard experience and until now i was used to have assistance whenever i go diving. He really loves his captain duties and his heart lives in the ocean, totally admire that, I even made a new friend thanks to him. Here you are a little bit on your own that’s the only thing that I did not like that much, everything was always rushed and with the movement of the boat I always had a little of trouble before and after every dive with preparation and putting all my gear where it was supposed to be when not diving, at some point my gear fell (I’m assuming that’s what happened) and my regulator was damaged for the last dives. I totally recommend this experience for the adventurer diver that’s collecting great experiences one dive at a time. Sharks on almost every dive and beautiful scenic views, sunrises and sunsets are mesmerizing, also if you wake up super early you get to see shooting stars and the Moon and the sun at the same time. I’m definitely coming back! In other season of course, but is a MUST DO! Now that I have the experience of a rocking boat I think I will enjoy it more.

Time of my life, I will be returning. Thank you Cpt. Chris!!
The crew were phenomenal at their jobs above and below the water (Annie's smile lights up the room and shes so knowledgeable, Barry is so kind and a great dive instructor, Carson's laugh was contagious, Eli is filled with such positive energy and always willing to help out, Gunnar toiled away tirelessly in the gally making unbelievably delicous food every day, and Cpt. Chris is a salty dog with a heart of gold who made us all feel at ease). All of the crew were very approachable and they all tell great stories, the food was spectacular (thank you Gunnar), the music was on point setting the mood at every time of day, the epic dive sites were well chosen and incredibly fun and easy to dive, the accommodation are close to what you'd expect from a hostle but way better (bunk beds, small/medium size shared dining room/kitchen/lounge inside, open deck for socializing and music and relaxation, delicious rum punch nightly and even a beer tap and wine options), the cleanliness was immaculate and the ship was well maintained. Did I mention that all inside rooms have air conditioning?

A adventure not to be missed!!
The value for the money can't be beat! The crew were friendly, funny, eager to help and just all around amazing. Accommodations were a bit tight but we made it work. Small suggestion: more hooks in the cabins (especially cabin 2!) Gunnar is absolutely phenomenal- the meals he creates in that tiny kitchen are fantastic. The dive sites were well planned and executed. The crew knew exactly what they were doing and they did it so well. Definitely a must do trip!! Special thanks to Barry for all of his help and making me (Leah) a more zen diver!! We will be back!!

Great crew, Great Dive, Great food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My overall experience was an incredible one. The crew was extremely professional and were very adept at handling a couple "experienced" divers that kept chiming in and trying to question or correct what the crew said and did. The crew is obviously extremely competent with their roles and did an amazing job communicating with each other and with the passengers.

This was a perfect diving vacation for our family of 5!
Hoppy and the crew made our week absolutely amazing! We traveled with a family of 5 (2 parents, 18 year old, 16 year old, and 13 year old). Everyone of us are certified divers, except the 16 year old and she has no interest. But she had a great time snorkeling all week and the crew even went out 1:1 with her to make sure we all had fun. Barry was a great cook and we had heaps of good food all week. He even accommodated one of us being lactose intolerant. The accommodations were not luxurious, but we didn't expect them to be. The beds were sufficient and comfortable and the a/c worked. Bathrooms were fine and the single shower is as advertised. No one took a shower every night and most only had one shower that week.
