My family of 4 (2 adults, 13 year old, 10 year old) had a terrific 5-day cruise on the Galaxy Orion! Our naturalist guide and the entire Orion crew
My family of 4 (2 adults, 13 year old, 10 year old) had a terrific 5-day cruise on the Galaxy Orion! We stayed in 2 of the upper cabins, which were just big enough for two people. The common areas include a nice outdoor lounge at the back of the upper deck, indoor dining area and living room on the middle deck, and the excursion preparation area at the back of the middle deck. The ship has two rigid, inflatable zodiac boats to take people to/from excursions and to/from shore. Also, free internet on-board was consistent (we did emails, video chatting on WhatsApp, changes in travel plans, Disney+ in the common area). Every full-day consisted of breakfast, one to two morning excursions, lunch, one to two afternoon excursions, a 5 minute brief that previewed the next day's activities, and dinner. Overall, it was a very full day for our family (though there was always 30-60 minutes before/after meals for washing up and down time). All snorkeling equipment was provided to us (snorkels, mask, wetsuits). Our naturalist, Julio, was amazing. He accompanied us on all excursions, and was friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable. He was also our English-Spanish translator whenever we needed it. The crew were also very friendly and accommodating. In addition to their normal duties of captain, chef, engineer, helmsman, cabin, etc, they all helped us get ready for and return from excursions. There were always people there to help, and we felt very taken care of. The food was delicious. Breakfast was a buffet that included eggs, other protein (e.g. sausages, bacon, ham), starch (e.g. potatoes, yucca), and fruit. Lunch and dinner was always something different and delicious and filling ... soup, entree, and dessert. Even in the (limited) down-time, you can always enjoy the spectacular views from the ship of turquoise water, alien-seeming islands, wildlife right next to the boat (frigate birds, sea lions, sea turtles, fish), or stargazing (first time our family saw the Milky Way, since the light pollution is so low in the Galapagos). Altogether, it was an amazing trip for our whole family, and everyone enjoyed it!

The perfect five days
We loved our five days on board. The amount of activities was just perfect and always getting greeted with drinks and snacks when coming back to the boat was something that probably spoiled us forever. The crew was outstanding and we would go back in a heartbeat.

Amazing liveaboard experience
The one week with Galaxy Diver was definitely my best liveaboard experience so far. Besides seeing all the exciting marine animals, the crew is very professional. For instance, no matter how much we drifted away, when we went up to surface, our boat is always within a few meters away. This have made all divers feeling safe in a difficult condition like Galapagos. They are also very friendly and genuine, and they did everything to make our trip a more memorable one, like the little ceremony when we passed the equator and chef's live show of making local dishes and drinks.

It's a comparatively good value in the Galapagos
We loved the choices in where we went and that the captain changed our timing of the a crossing from one island to another so that we could enjoy the whales and the super-pod of dolphins. All Galapagos trips are expensive - it is the nature of "the nature" there. This cruise fit the bill for the ability to see many islands in-depth.
