Operating since 1998, MY Resolute is one of the longest-running liveaboard vessels in the Philippines. With a highly experienced crew on board, the boat visits Tubbataha from March to June. This UNESCO heritage site offers pristine dive conditions and shark sightings on almost every dive, with the chance of encountering white tip, grey reef, nurse, and hammerhead sharks. From July- to October, M/Y Resolute relocates to the island of Cebu for diving in the Visayas to see whale sharks, thresher sharks, and colorful critters. The ship then navigates to Apo Reef, offering the chance to dive with hammerheads, reef sharks, and other pelagic life.

Topside, the MY Resolute liveaboard caters to just 16 guests. There are 8 comfortable cabins available, each with individually controlled AC and en-suite bathrooms. Meals are served in the open-air dining room, and dinner is usually a five-course buffet consisting of 2 meat dishes, 1 seafood, soup, and vegetables. Special dietary requirements are catered to with advance notice. The ship's bow offers loungers and is a great place to soak up the sun, and the indoor salon offers a cool area with an entertainment system and a camera room. The large dive deck is located at the back of the boat and offers ample space for kitting up and individual gear storage.

This was an excellent liveaboard experience!! The crew was all super kind and helpful. The reef in Tubbataha was so alive and vibrant, we saw lots of sharks, turtles, nudis, and many more things! And the food was stellar, can’t speak highly enough about the variety and quality of the food. Overall such a great trip!! A great time for all!
I absolutely loved this trip, Karla, Gilbert, Josh and the other staff were incredible. The dive briefings were always thorough and I always felt in good hands. The highlight for me was diving with the whalesharks - we were really lucky with this. Expect to see big schools of fish, reef sharks and lovely coral. The food was also amazing - thanks Chef! The rooms are on the smaller side, but each have AC and an ensuite. Drinks are on the pricier side - so if you like wine - BYO! Overall, this was a fantastic trip, massive thanks to Karla and Gilbert!

Awesome diving and the best liveaboard experience
As expected, diving in Tubbataha was amazing. Healthy coral reefs with thousands of fishes, sharks and mantas. They are doing a great job protecting and managing these reefs! In addition, everything was excellent on board. Starting with the food: I'm vegetarian and they prepared delicious vegetarian food for us in every meal. I loved that the food is served on an exterior covered deck (instead of having lunch and dinner inside the boat as in other liveaboards), and the upper deck is great for taking naps! The Resolute has a lot of space to chill between dives and spacious cabins with comfy beds. The crew was also 5 stars, helpful and friendly, and the dives were really well guided with our safety being always the first priority. So what else do you want? 200% recommended!

Unforgettable experience
Whalesharks! My last time seeing a Whaleshark was almost a dacade ago. I am so lucky with Resolute this week that we saw whalesharks 3 times! I got a really good video. I enjoy the whole week with the professional guides and organisation that makes it a very safe, well-organised, joyful and magical experience. The food was fantastic as well, totally exceeded my expectations. Dive, eat, sleep, repeat. Simple and happy.

The boat is very well organized and the staff is extremly friendly and helpful. The food was amazing - i am vegetarian and the chef made separate dishes for me :O i did not expect this level of care (and so much delicious vegetarian food)! The guides were very knowledgable and they made sure we were save during strong currents - i felt very comfortable with them. Thank you Jonathan and Mark for showing us so many amazing dive spots! I was in the small cabine which had still it's own toilet and AC. The room was cleaned every day.

Overall, it was an unforgettably beautiful journey with Resolute. My friend who already had a trip with them before recommended me to go together this time. I could see why. We love the crew. All diving crews in LiveAboard tend to be happy and nice but it felt beyond that. Ernie had been always checking whether we felt alright, Bob is a fully trustable divemaster, and Karla's been such an attentive sweetheart. They've made customized cakes to congratulate my friend's birthday (vegan) and one person who had his 100th dive. One thing to take into consideration is that the sea is quite turbulent and most of us went through some sea-sickness at least once. But that didn't stop us from eating, because the food was sooooo good. I was impressed with myself for continuing to eat despite being almost flown away from the deck (a bit exaggerated). That's how good the food was..! You will get fat in this trip. We saw lots of tropical fish - my favorite clown triggerfish was seen multiple times, massive turtles, sharks, rays, flamboyant cuttlefish, seahorses, so many nudibranches, lobster, bumphead, barracudas, pufferfish, lionfish, catfish, etc - oh not to forget the dugong! Only one downside of this trip is that compared to the other LiveAboard trip I had with Andaman, this time I had to pay separately for all the rental gears per day - which was around 300 USD in total. The cost was all included in Andaman. Ah, also bear in mind that you would have to get a taxi from airport to the pier which takes around 2.5 hours (one-way) and 273 USD (roundtrip, can be shared among three to four people). Other than that I can confidently say that I loved the trip. I'm very much interested in Resolute's trip to Tubbataha too. I heard you'll see so many sharks that you won't even get that impressed seeing one anymore. Hope to see you again soon! xoxo

I had an amazing experience on the Resolute liveaboard in Tubbataha. The diving was truly world-class — pristine reefs, incredible visibility, and a great mix of pelagics and macro life. Every dive felt well-planned and safe. The crew were outstanding — professional, attentive, and genuinely warm. The dive guides were knowledgeable and did a great job adapting to different diver levels while ensuring everyone had a great experience. The boat itself was comfortable and well-maintained. Cabins were compact but functional, and the common areas were perfect for relaxing between dives. Food was consistently good with plenty of variety, and they were accommodating of dietary needs. What stood out most was how smoothly everything was run — from dive briefings to logistics, it felt effortless as a guest. I dropped my gopro on the trip and the boat manager was kind enough to send out a message as well. Overall, a fantastic trip and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking to dive one of the best sites in the world.

I like to go again
The season was almost end and wether was not so good such as rainy and windy, but under water it was still good and enjoyed nice divings. After diving good foods ware waiting for us. The staff and crews are frendry and help us any time. The boat is old, but well maintained and cleaned.

Incredible experience
The food we had was great and you never felt hungry because there was always amazing food. The crew was so helpful and attentive. The dive masters were very skilled and safe. Tubbataha did not disappoint. The reefs lived up to every bit of their reputation, and the diving was simply spectacular. From the sheer walls to the abundance of marine life, every dive felt like a gift. The crew made the experience. Warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive, they went out of their way to make every guest feel cared for. Their hospitality reflected real pride in their work, and I am grateful for their service. One small note for fellow travelers: getting in and out of the top bunk takes a little patience and agility. Come prepared for that, and you will have nothing to complain about. Highly recommended.

A special liveaboard with unusual diving experiences, hot springs, manatees, wrecks and sharks!
Although the boat was old and originally build as a spyboat, we had a wonderful time. The crew helped wherever they could. Carla, the boatmanager was extremely friendly, took care of everything, was never in a bad mood. She is a wonderful person.The diveguides made a good job and offered us every day a new experience. We saw dugongs, sharks , wracks and were diving in a hot sweetwater lake. What a great tour!!!Maybe the cabins were a bit small and not very comfortable, but would always emphasize this tour.

Diving with the crew from Resolute was just amazing, professionals and great diving locations. The most economical cabin was very small, but with private bathroom and AC, bunks very comfortable and simply just great to get good night rest. Food served 5 times and day you must be careful not to come back home with few additional kg of weight :)

Review resolute We were on the Resolute cruise from 2-8 april 2025 to Tubbataha reef with 4 experienced 3* CMAS divers who have been diving around the world. This liveaboard gives you a great cost quality rate. The boat is one of the oldest ones of the fleet but gives all the comfort you’ll need. We got the smallest cabin but beds and matress are very good. It’s small but you’re on a dive boat… The food was exquisite! It’s a great variety of local vs western food. The chefs do great work! Stewards, captains, compressor operators and engineers are lovely people. They’re open for a good talk and give you explanation and help for whatever problem you can have. Ex: one of the people had problems with his BCD and they solved it, bottles were always correctly filled and nitrox was prepared like it should be, we had problems with our toilet flush…solved. The dive masters and speedboat skippers were lovely! We had to fit our gear one time, they labeled, looked at the configuration and from then on we haven’t had to do anything anymore. They were very professional and strict about analyzing nitrox, this all for our own safety. Getting to the dive spot runned very smoothly, even when conditions were a bit more extreme. From the moment we surfaced again the speedboat rushed to our spot. Between dives they were very carefull with our diving gear ex: a cover was over the gear between morning and afternoon dives to protect them from the sun, normal glasses were kept safe during your dive. The dive masters (Athan, Josh, Gilbert and Carla) did tremendous work above and under the surface! They protect you as well as the reef. They know the spots perfectly and can change their lead due to weather conditions or current. We found some plastic and fishing lines and they help you to get it surfaced! Briefings were given very strictly with maps of the dive spot so everyone knows what comes. Simply said it was perfect!

We had a great week cruising. The seabed is exceptional, and the crew is very attentive throughout the stay. Small downside for the quality of the Resolute boat: it is an old boat and many things were non-functional: broken room door, shower problem, leaking air conditioning.. It is true that at the price of the cruise we slightly expected a better service! Same for the loaned equipment: the wetsuits are in bad condition with holes, fortunately the water is hot!!But apart from all that, an incredible experience that I recommend to any diver passing through the Philippines, even more so to coral and shark lovers! enjoy
