Highlights
Operating since 1998, MY Resolute is one of the longest-running liveaboard vessels in the Philippines. With a highly experienced crew on board, the boat visits Tubbataha from March to June. This UNESCO heritage site offers pristine dive conditions and shark sightings on almost every dive, with the chance of encountering white tip, grey reef, nurse, and hammerhead sharks. From July- to October, M/Y Resolute relocates to the island of Cebu for diving in the Visayas to see whale sharks, thresher sharks, and colorful critters. The ship then navigates to Apo Reef, offering the chance to dive with hammerheads, reef sharks, and other pelagic life.
Topside, the MY Resolute liveaboard caters to just 16 guests. There are 8 comfortable cabins available, each with individually controlled AC and en-suite bathrooms. Meals are served in the open-air dining room, and dinner is usually a five-course buffet consisting of 2 meat dishes, 1 seafood, soup, and vegetables. Special dietary requirements are catered to with advance notice. The ship's bow offers loungers and is a great place to soak up the sun, and the indoor salon offers a cool area with an entertainment system and a camera room. The large dive deck is located at the back of the boat and offers ample space for kitting up and individual gear storage.

Casual boat. Good crew. Good diving.
We had good weather and decent diving for the week. Saw mantas, large schools of bumphead parrotfish, many nurse and white tip sharks and schools of barracuda. In most places the reef looked amazingly healthy. Overall, the crew was very helpful and friendly. Boat was a little cramped at times but generally it was a good boat to be on.

Resolutely Wonderful!
The diving was ok. We didn’t have the best conditions. But saw a few manta and some sharks. Highlight was the boat and her crew. One of the better liveaboards I’ve been on.

Super friendly and accomodating
Diving conditions were perfect Staff always accomodating and going the extra mile F&B yummy, excellent mix of local and international The boat manager Ms. Karla was just outstanding All in all, highly recommended if you prefer a smaller boat, which might not offer all the bells and whistles, but dedicated staff and great diving

Great crew and amazing dives
Tubbataha, as expected, was amazing. Healthy corals, mantas, hammerheads, hundreds of reef sharks, and large schools of jacks. This was the perfect start to a lifelong of liveaboard trips. The crew was super friendly and helpful both on deck and underwater. Karla, the ship manager, made sure everyone felt cared for, setting a positive vibe for the whole trip. The dive masters were pros but also gave us some freedom to explore around (safety first, of course). The Nitox mixed on board was spot on, with around 31/32 PPO2 for every tank. The food options were so diverse and so tasty that you wouldn't believe it was served on a boat. The cabins were a bit snug, and I did bump my head a few times on the upper bunk. Plus, there was a funky smell, but it didn't bother me that much because I was so wiped out after all those incredible dives. If you're prone to seasickness, take note that Resolute isn't a huge vessel, so you might feel the waves more. Overall, the trip was absolutely unforgettable, and I would definitely recommend Resolute.

Awesome diving and the best liveaboard experience
As expected, diving in Tubbataha was amazing. Healthy coral reefs with thousands of fishes, sharks and mantas. They are doing a great job protecting and managing these reefs! In addition, everything was excellent on board. Starting with the food: I'm vegetarian and they prepared delicious vegetarian food for us in every meal. I loved that the food is served on an exterior covered deck (instead of having lunch and dinner inside the boat as in other liveaboards), and the upper deck is great for taking naps! The Resolute has a lot of space to chill between dives and spacious cabins with comfy beds. The crew was also 5 stars, helpful and friendly, and the dives were really well guided with our safety being always the first priority. So what else do you want? 200% recommended!

Charged with all the warmth of Philippines ☀️🧡
Overall, it was an unforgettably beautiful journey with Resolute. My friend who already had a trip with them before recommended me to go together this time. I could see why. We love the crew. All diving crews in LiveAboard tend to be happy and nice but it felt beyond that. Ernie had been always checking whether we felt alright, Bob is a fully trustable divemaster, and Karla's been such an attentive sweetheart. They've made customized cakes to congratulate my friend's birthday (vegan) and one person who had his 100th dive. One thing to take into consideration is that the sea is quite turbulent and most of us went through some sea-sickness at least once. But that didn't stop us from eating, because the food was sooooo good. I was impressed with myself for continuing to eat despite being almost flown away from the deck (a bit exaggerated). That's how good the food was..! You will get fat in this trip. We saw lots of tropical fish - my favorite clown triggerfish was seen multiple times, massive turtles, sharks, rays, flamboyant cuttlefish, seahorses, so many nudibranches, lobster, bumphead, barracudas, pufferfish, lionfish, catfish, etc - oh not to forget the dugong! Only one downside of this trip is that compared to the other LiveAboard trip I had with Andaman, this time I had to pay separately for all the rental gears per day - which was around 300 USD in total. The cost was all included in Andaman. Ah, also bear in mind that you would have to get a taxi from airport to the pier which takes around 2.5 hours (one-way) and 273 USD (roundtrip, can be shared among three to four people). Other than that I can confidently say that I loved the trip. I'm very much interested in Resolute's trip to Tubbataha too. I heard you'll see so many sharks that you won't even get that impressed seeing one anymore. Hope to see you again soon! xoxo

WORST LIVEABOARD BY FAR
DO NOT BOOK THIS LIVEABOARD ! This is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had on a liveaboard and I will explain why. 1/ the boat is old and absolutely not adapted for a liveaboard. They gave me a 1m2 cabin when a bigger was advertised and I paid the same price. All the cabins smell extremely bad. When I complained, the owner told me that I didn’t have a choice. 2/ the gear on the boat was very old and absolutely not made or quality. I had to dive with a short and t shirt when I specifically mentioned that I need to rent the gear. 3/ the food was not good and you can’t eat outside the meals. There are no snacks or beverages onboard except the ones you have to pay. 4/ we had to curtail the trip and go back to puerto princesa after 3 days because one of the generators broke. The owner didn’t do the maintenance and chose to do the trip anyway so he wouldn’t lose money. 5/ when we arrived, the owner told us that the ac in the living room was broken. Later in the week when the generator broke down we understood that the generator was already almost broken and that’s why he decided to turn off the ac not to push it too much. Because of his stinginess, we had to curtail the trip. He offered to refund 1/3 for the missing dives but when it was refund time we realized that the refund was not 1/3 but 15% because he removed all the taxes and fees so he wouldn’t have to refund much money. 6/ This owner brought a very bad vibe on the boat. Setting way too many rules, making comments and remarks all the time, being disrespectful to people. His own staff hates him and feel uncomfortable when he’s around. This guy just bought a boat for his own leisure and is making money out of people’s hopes. 7/ we haven’t seen any manta or whale sharks. Tubbataha is not what it’s advertised for. Nice reefs lots of fish but that’s it. Not worths the price. Conclusion : if you wanna spend lots of money and be disappointed, feel bad and stressed out and not like you are welcome, dive with shitty equipment and eat shitty food then go for it. For those who are looking for a good experience, just book any other boat than this one. We made fun of the owner and the boat with the other guests because we have never seen such a circus on a liveaboard. The other guests were extremely experienced most of them are instructors or dive masters and been on many liveaboards. This review is the reflect on most the guests on the boat.

Incredible experience
The food we had was great and you never felt hungry because there was always amazing food. The crew was so helpful and attentive. The dive masters were very skilled and safe. They were great at pointing out rare species. The dives and itinerary was lovely. I saw things I didn’t even know existed. I recommend this liveaboard to everyone.

Great diving at unique divesites on a great boat with amazing Crew!
Traveling with MV Resolute means having a great time. I was on the Apo reef, Coron wrecks and the Dugong observation trip. Apo Reef is an amazing reef with beautiful coral gardens in the middle of the Zulu Sea. Coincidentally, the Manta also visited us during our dives. After that we dove in the ship graveyard before Coron. A journey into the past, now full of marine life. But the very next day we had an appointment with the protected dugongs from Calauit island. A feeling of happiness diving with them... goosebumps... Shortly before disembarking, the last dives in the Isla Verde Strait .. perfect end to a great diving trip with MV Resolute. I can recommend it.
