Fabulous relaxed adventure exploring the more remote islands of the Andaman
We had a fabulous trip on Amadeus. The room was far more comfortable than I had anticipated with a spacious comfortable bed. There is no aircon so the evenings are warm but you have a hatch you can open to let the breeze in, and a fan. There is plenty of storage in the room so long as you don't bring a hard case... but travel as light as you can - you need little more than swim wear and something to cover up with. The boat is very informal. Excess luggage can be left in the secure office on shore. The ensuite was basic but perfectly adequate. Day time on the boat was spent relaxing on beanbags on deck as we travelled. When we dropped anchor the kayaks and SUPs were available to explore the area. The boat also provided good quality snorkelling equipment. The snorkelling at the more remote islands was spectacular - better than the Maldives in terms of fish life and visibility, but lacking the turtles, rays and sharks you see there ( which many may feel is a good thing!) Food was tasty and plentiful on the boat. Before boarding we ordered wine which I did think was expensive, but in the event we didn't drink it - soft drinks and beer were preferable in the heat. You don't have to buy the pre ordered drinks - just request it be put on board if you think you might want something and then just pay for what you consume.
