Fantastic diving on the northern trip
We went on the northern route in September 2025. We had some fantastic diving. There were a tonne of mantas, and lots of dives focussed on finding and watching mantas, including a great night dive with mantas. We saw the occasional reef shark during the trip then had one dive with great visibility and maybe 50 reef sharks circling us, which was awesome. We also saw whale sharks whilst snorkelling, and had a beautiful experience with a whale shark and dolphins approaching the boat at night. The dive guides and other staff were attentive and experienced. The boat is beautiful, brand new, and has great furniture and fittings. We had a great time!

Very good, love the boat people and how Anna took as to the best dive points with the safety first. The only thing that was missing was the beach party which other boat did have despite the weather.

Value for money
The "Spirit of Maldives" liveaboard truly offered value for money on this Northern Atolls itinerary. The diving was exceptional, with the Mantaray encounters being a definite trip highlight. The dive guides were knowledgeable and ensured safe, memorable dives. The Services provided by the crew were generally excellent—they were friendly and attentive, making the boat experience very comfortable. While the cabins and overall boat comfort were great for a week at sea, the food and drinks could be improved to match the high standard of the diving and crew service. I highly recommend this trip for divers seeking fantastic marine life at a competitive price.

The South Tour - a highlight
The whole team on board the Aqua Queen (Spirit of Maldives) was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We felt very welcome, safe and comfortable at all times. I would like to praise the cook, Nandana, again in particular! What he conjured up for us in the small galley every day was excellent. Local, varied, fresh and always full of flavour - thank you dear Nandana!The guides successfully guided us through the dive sites and showed us the big highlights as well as the small features of the reefs.We felt safe underwater at all times, even if some dive sites had challenged us a bit, and Ana took very good care of us, even if we were more of a chaos troop - thank you Ana for a wonderful time in the Indian Ocean!Many thanks also to Lukas, who organized the whole operation on board and was also able to fulfill special requests!The southern tour kept what was promised! If you like it a little "wilder", you shouldn't miss this unique opportunity!

Northern Wonders: the team ( and the whale sharks!) made this a great trip
Great 10 days with too many dive- highs to mention: whale sharks , SO many mantas. Manta night dive, big stuff and small stuff! Lukas & Anna made a great team as boat managers and the crew seemed to all work seamlessly together - meaning that even with 3-4 dives a day, the transition for every dive was as easy as possible . The daily schedule worked really well, and the team managed a few curve balls (replacement dhoni) such that it had minimal impact on the trip. Chefs Nandana and Romesh provided fabulous curries and endless fresh fruits, veg dishes etc. Asanga and Johirul were always cheerful & super attentive at meal times . Adam had an enormous smile every morning when we got on and off the boat and the entire boat and dhoni crew and captains kept us safe and in/out of the water cheerfully & efficiently. Joe was our dive guide and brought his laid back Fijian vibe with him, making dives a pleasure . Aqua Queen was a really comfortable boat. The result of all of the above was that 25 dives over 9 days never felt exhausting. I would recommend and hope that we can return to do the Deep South itinerary .

This is what a scuba diving liveaboard is about :)
My partner and I had a great experience aboard the Spirit of Maldives. 10 days flew by, punctuated by great dives, great meals, entertaining evenings and the most professional dive conditions we have seen. This is how a liveaboard should be ran. A great thank you to Jo, Ana, Lukas and Sabah for a fantastic 10 days!
