The Ghazala Explorer liveaboard in Egypt is a modern 37mtr/121ft motor yacht offering itineraries throughout the Red Sea area. It can take up to 24 guests in 12 air-conditioned, ensuite cabins, consisting of 9 twin bed and 3 double bed cabins, including suites. Ghazala Explorer has a spacious, bright indoor dining and lounge area for guests to enjoy prepared meals or relax with a drink. There is a sun deck with seating areas, bean bags, and either covered or open areas for those who prefer to be in the sunshine. A large dive deck to the rear allows storage of dive equipment and plenty of space to get ready for dives, and the rear platform makes getting on and off the tenders more accessible.

I look back on a fantastic week.
My 15th liveaboard and by far the best. The welcome was warm, the crew is extremely helpful and friendly. The dives are well briefed and supervised. Those who wanted to could dive unaccompanied. Always felt safe. Even though I had done this tour 4 times, they still showed other reefs. The boat was quite comfortable and neat. It is also nice that there are plenty of sunbeds in the sun so that you can warm up between dives now that it was a bit colder season. Wide range of decent towels and bathrobe when you get out of the water and stand in the wind. After the dive, the crew was ready to help you take off your wetsuit, they rinsed it for you and hung it up which is nice when you are shivering from the cold. The food was tasty and varied. There was also always a fruit basket that was replenished daily. A big plus was the coffee machine with delicious coffee that is included. That also brings me to the fact that there are no hidden costs.

Had a great experience from the minute I booked the trip. Beforehand, Alex was helpful in setting up transportation to Aswan at the end of my trip. Pickup from Hurghada was friendly and set the tone of great service for the entire week. Once aboard, the crew was great at communicating everything coming up and was very accommodating, constantly making sure that everything was ok and I didn't need anything. The entire week of diving was fun, safe, and relaxing. Everything was great and I would definitely do this trip again (although maybe a different itinerary to dive somewhere new).

The trip on the Ghazala Explorer was simply a complete success! The crew and guides were extremely accommodating and eager to make you feel completely comfortable. The dives are great and professionally planned, you feel safe at all times. There is no shortage of food either. In addition, it has an extremely good quality. It's amazing what the bosses were able to conjure up in a small ship's kitchen. The interior has recently been modernized and is tastefully designed. We had a very nice cabin on the upper deck.

Great trip on a modern safari boat
We deliberately drove to spots where sharks could also be seen - it worked very well. The guides have found really fantastic dive spots with great reefs, grottos or abundance of fish.

Truly great Red Sea dive trip.
It's a very comfortable boat: large enough to have room to move around and be stable on the water, but small enough so divers can get to know one another. Cabins had plenty of room and storage space. New sites every day. Before each dive the briefings by a dive guide, with audiovisual assist, were complete and understandable. The deck staff both before and after the dives were everywhere assisting with gear and helping in any way they could. Always a snack and a drink waiting when we came up. My wife and I were encouraged to get nitrox certified and we did; looking at the nitrox log I saw that everyone else on the boat, now including us, were using nitrox blend. The reefs weren't the best I've seen, having dived in Belize and Palau and Roatan, among others, but they were always good and often amazing. The emphasis was on spotting pelagics and we did see some; I'm more of a reef and small critter person and could have used more of that. Since it was my first time there, I stuck with a guided group for almost all my dives and this generally went well; the guides were all pros and kept a good eye on us. Some interesting caves on some of the dives which gave nice variety. We took a RIB excursion to see dolphins up close but did not see any in the one place where we could actually get in the water with them, but the snorkeling was fun. Loved the night dives. Full days every day, up at 6 and in the water not long after, with dinner usually around 9 after the night dive, if there was one. Great food, a mix of Western and Egyptian that was tasty and varied, and there was plenty of it. They seemed proud of it and deservedly so.

A pleasant, smiling and professional crew, taking care of us to make sure we had an excellent stay in the Red Sea.The food was plentiful and excellent throughout the week, with a perfect mix of Egyptian and international food. The boat is very well maintained, and safety is well ensured during the dives: safety first!Very nice dives in the North of the Red Sea with the incredible Thistlegorm, the Giannis and to finish a superb encounter with a school of more than 10 dolphins. Great Liveabaord for the price.
Great wrecks and beautiful reefs on the North route. If you have never done it, it is worth it. Hurghada port is better than Sharm El Sheik. I highly recommend it. Beautiful dive sites, very professional crew, great boat. The only thing missing is the free Wi-fi advertised on Liveaboard site. There is no internet on the boat. You will have 2-3 days without signal. The other days you will get some signal from roaming your own services.

First of all - what can be done better? - To book two weeks on the ship. It was a great experience from start to finish. The pick up from the airport worked perfectly. On the ship I was warmly welcomed. The ship is great. The crew was always helpful and nothing was left to be desired. The food was delicious. The dive guides were all very knowledgeable and you felt very safe, even at unfamiliar dive sites. I've done three Liveaboard's in the Red Sea the Ghazala Explorer being my fourth, i was impressed from the moment i stepped onboard, the boat is only a year old and very well designed, i stayed in the upper deck cabin and was impressed by the size of the cabin and how well designed it was. All the crew were very friendly, the dives were great, i saw eleven Hammerhead's at Daedalus...amazing ! I will definately be booking the Ghazala again, thank you for a great week !

It's not a trip, it's an experience!
Newly built and very well organised liveaboard! The schedule itself included all the sweet spots for a North Red Sea itinerary, while the captain was quite flexible to also adjust it as needed, so we could avoid bad weather conditions or busy spots. The guides were very knowledgable of the area and helpful to all different levels of experience among the divers and the whole stuff very friendly, making the whole trip an amazing diving experience! Last but not least, the food.. Well done chefs! Highly recommended from all aspects and I'll definitely be back!
