The MV Carpe Vita, a sister ship to the Carpe Diem and Carpe Novo liveaboards, is a luxury yacht offering year-round diving in the Maldives. There are 10 comfortable cabins spread over 3 decks, each with private bathroom facilities, individually controlled AC, storage space, safety deposit boxes, and a desk and chair. On the lower deck are 6 standard cabins, which have one queen-size bed and a super single bed, the main deck has two superior cabins, which have king-size beds, which can be separated into two super single beds and ocean views. The upper deck has 2 VIP spacious suites with a California King bed and ocean views.

Social areas aboard the Carpe Vita liveaboard include the air-conditioned salon and lounge, equipped with a flat-screen TV and entertainment system. Meals are prepared by a fine-dining chef and served semi-buffet style at the back of the boat's open-air dining and bar area. There are 3 partially shaded sun decks with comfortable loungers where guests can soak up the sun and enjoy the sea breeze.

Carpe Vita dive itineraries explore some of the best dive sites in the Maldives. Great boat, awesome crew, amazing dives
We were really lucky with all guest, everyone gelled and we had a great time on the boat together. The rooms are spacious and especially the bathroom really big compared to other liveaboards we‘ve been on - aircon works well and the beds are comfy. The crew were all super nice and made sure we were well looked after, everything runs like clockwork. The meals were fantastic, lots of choice, so much fresh fruit, vegetables, salads, meat options. Beach dinner and Christmas dinner were incredible, they pulled out all the stops. Little tip, the bottle of 25$ Merlot is delicious 😋 Diving was also great, really well organised, make sure you get a proper check dive with weights as they just skipped that… other than that, amazing - so many sharks, mantas anf turtles on this trip.

Comfortable boat and beautiful dives
Lots of nurse sharks, white tip sharks, grey reef sharks, Mantas, sting rays, turtles. Very beautiful reefs and the guides we had are really very very helpful. They really stretched so much to make sure we had great diving experience. Greatly appreciate their help. The boat is really nice and comfortable. Food is about average, no complaints though. Overall the company Carpe Diem has done a great job to make sure everybody gets a great experience on their boats. I am really happy I had the opportunity to experience Maldives with them.

A dream Liveaboard on the Carpe Vita with lots of beautiful dives, great underwater life and delicious food.
For us it was the first experience with a liveaboard trip.We were helped very well (by email and by phone) by Liveaboard.com.After our original trip was unfortunately canceled due to a charter of the original boat, a suitable solution was looked for together with LiveAboard.com and the boat owner. Very nice and professionally acted and solved.We had a great time on board the Carpe Vita under the guidance of chapter Adam. That started at the airport with the warm welcome. The Carpe Vita boat is very comfortable, spacious and in our opinion also luxurious.Lots of places to sit and relax. Both in the sun and in the shade or in the air conditioning or on the aft deck. A pleasant layout.The cabins are really spacious and equipped with all the comforts you want on a diving trip.Enough space to store everything and also enough sockets to charge things.A spacious bathroom with, toilet, double sink and large walk-in shower. Always warm fresh water. A well-functioning air conditioner that is virtually silent. A large nice lying bed in which you can also lie comfortably as a tall Dutchman.Nice that there was room to dry things at the front of the boat (equipped with good sturdy clips to prevent the wind from blowing away), The wetsuits stay in place and dry on the dive doni/dinghy.The bath towels were changed every few days and you could dry them on the aft deck. Again, a sturdy windproof clip for each cabin.The food on board was fantastic. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were always a party. Wide choice of various dishes (also vegetarian), excellent quality and very tasty. Tribute to the Chef.The room was serviced daily. Very nice to find your towels as a work of art every day. What a sweet gentleman who enthusiastically waved us goodbye every day and welcomed us back on board.Of course you come for the diving. As far as we were concerned, that was well arranged. The variety of dives and locations was fine. A reef/wall, a number of dives in one of the many channels with currents (reef diving), diving hanging from a reef hook (we had a strong current at Fish Head), diving with manta;' s in the night, a wreck dive, several Thila's (submarine "mountains"). A fantastic dive in the oceanic swell along a reef. Snorkeling with a whale shark. The variety of dives and locations was fine. We were able to tick off our "wish list" except for the Hammerhead and Tigershark (both and especially the Tigershark a super small chance of this trip). It is and remains nature. But we were so happy with the Mantis Schrimp, the Mantas, the Napoleaon, the Whale Shark, the Dolphins and the many (variety) Sharks. In that respect, also tribute to Chakku.Keep in mind that the dive guides are really guides. You really have to be able to dive together with your buddy. You are responsible for your own dive and must be able to save yourself. They are not instructors who will watch and help you the whole dive. Of course in case of emergency they will spring into action, but they are your guide and not your instructor.Being able to launch a DSMB (easily and quickly) (even in strong currents) is a must in our opinion. Also, having a Nitrox/Enriched Air specialty is a plus, as is possessing an Advanced "padi" and/or Deep specialty. Many dives quickly go to 25 to 30 meters (this is where the sharks are, among other things) and at the end of the dive (taking into account the ascent speed) go up relatively quickly to the safety stop at 5 meters. That safety stop is often in "the blue". Hence the need to be able to launch a DSMB.Some experience with diving in currents and dealing with a reef hook is nice. Reading or watching (youtube) beforehand how this works, if you have never done it before helps enormously.We, the C-group, had Chakku as Dive Team Leader. I can absolutely recommend Carpe Vita - just some minor steps to perfection
The trip(s) with Carpe Vita was/were great! Diving was amazing and the crew did a really good job! The boat is not the most modern one, but the crew keeps it nice and clean anytime and the rooms are really spacious for a liveaboard! The food was AMAZING!!! Everyday, every time! Nevertheless it would be great if they would encourage people to save the environment and would feedback people who forget their good manners under water. (We had some divers who touched wale sharks and corals frequently and more than just “accidentally”. It would have been great if the guides would have reminded them to show more respect to the nature.) Also the general boat briefing could have been more informativ and “intense” to avoid any misunderstandings and -ideally- check expectations and maybe adjust the schedule slightly to the visitors interests. Personally, I did hope for some night dives but there were none. (One sunset dive in two weeks) Staff onboard is super proactive, friendly and supportive no matter what problem you might have. All in all it was an amazing time!!! Thank you Carpe Vita Team!

Amazing experience
We were incredibly impressed by the setup on this liveaboard. The dive boat is spacious and supports 20 people comfortably. We were part of a dive group of 5 and the smallest on our boat was 4 and most was 6. They have 11.5L, 13.5L tanks (free) and 15L for those who need it at a premium. The gear provided was well maintained. Our standard room was spacious and clean with a good en suite. The communal areas of the boat are also spacious and there was coffee and snacks available at all times. Food was great and they even regularly caught fresh fish off the edge of the boat which was eaten the same day for dinner. This was my first, however, my colleagues said how this would spoil future liveaboards. I definitely recommend this option. For transparency, we got in early and paid around $2100 and found it to be good value for money.

The boat trip was by far the best part of the Maldives experience. The crew was nice, everything worked well, the dive crew was concerned that we see exciting things each dive.

Fantastic long trip
We have never been on a liveaboard for 10night, but would have stayed another 10 without hestitating right away. The boat is very spacious, superclean and with several decks both with shadow and sun. The large dive dhoni is really a plus and it felt never crowded although we were 19 divers (of max 20) split in 3 groups with 3 dive guides. Only negative thing were the huge rental jackets .... never seen such a massive jacket in small. The food was very good. We have never seen such a variety of fruits on any breakfast buffet in resorts. The crew took very good care. It was great to have an excellent creative bar keeper on board who served fantastic cocktails with fresh ingredients from the kitchen at sunset. Many great dives that thrilled even experienced divers with 1000+ dives on board. The long trip is absolutely recommended and we were much more relaxed than after the typical 8 day trips.

I did a 7 day LOB on Carpe Vita. It was the best diving I’ve done in my life! Amazing experience seeing so many sharks up close. The water temperature was great and the boat benefited from a Dhoni (separate dive boat attached yo the big boat) which made getting to dive spots much easier. The cabins were comfortable and well maintained. The food was great and always prepared with care. The only thing that would have improved the experience would have been a little more enthusiasm from the dive guides (who must have been very tired after a long dive season!) would recommend

The dive trip of a lifetime but I am determined to come back.
From the moment we were collected from the airport everything ran like clockwork. The dive groups were small which was helpful. The dive locations were all varied. They included white tip shark watching by reef hook, diving with mantas at night and swimming and lying on the sand at the ocean floor with 20 or more very friendly nurse sharks. Honestly the trip of a lifetime. The meals on the boat were such high quality and we were well looked after with fresh towels every day, good air con in rooms and dive briefing room. Must say it was a luxury experience and worth every penny.
