Highlights
The 38-cabin Wilderness Discoverer was built in 1992 and renovated in 2011. The open-plan lounge and dining room have a relaxed atmosphere, with the beautiful cedar wood bar a great place to get a drink and socialize with other guests. There are three decks, including a sun deck, from which you can admire the stunning scenery. The small ship cruise vessel carries an impressive assortment of adventure gear, such as kayaks, skiffs, paddleboards, and hiking poles. Do you still have the energy to burn? You can make full use of the onboard fitness equipment. Alternatively, if a little R&R is more in line with your desires, there are two onboard hot tubs. You can choose between four classes of cabins, each with a private bathroom, air conditioning, and a TV/DVD player. Each cabin also has a viewing window. See and hear more underwater action with the hydrophone and underwater camera.
Explore the wilds of Alaska on the Wilderness Discoverer. Choose between 7-night itineraries, head off the tried-and-trodden trail, and see remote parts of Alaska and more well-known destinations. Depending on the itinerary, highlights may include marveling at the glacial wonders of Glacier Bay National Park, Tracy Arm, and Endicott Arm, spotting whales in the wild, hikes on the islands of Baranof and Chichagof, wildlife watching at South Marble Island, the Brothers Islands, Peril Strait, and Behm Canal, exploring Tongass National Forest and Misty Fjords National Monument, and a cultural visit to a Tlingit community.
The helpful team of the Wilderness Discoverer is all set to make your trip memorable. Book online to secure your preferred itinerary.

A week in misty wet paradise
Loved being on the last trip of the season - had lots of alterations to the itinerary that made the trip even more enjoyable. Positively great to see LeConte glacier and to kayak in "God's Pocket". Certainly a trip of a lifetime. Thanks for the great memories.

This cruise was everything we hoped for and more!
Our overall experience was excellent! Seeing glaciers up close was amazing! Choosing a small boat experience was absolutely the way to go. We actually had the opportunity to get to know the other passengers, and made some wonderful friends.

The Wilderness Discoverer takes you to the heart of coastal Alaska.
We loved the get out and enjoy spirit of the cruise and the support of the crew who made it possible in a safe way. It was great to have levels of physical challenges offered. All the accommodation niceties were there but in a way that encouraged moderation. It’s hard to pick one highlight out of an exceptional week. The kayak tours, glacier, whales, and ecomeander are now great memories. Thank you!

Very satifying the pluses outwayed the negatives
Overall we were satisfied Several times in our group we had to send meals back because they were cold The cabins are small and very tight not much room for two people to move around The places that we went were awesome Incredible views The crew was great in pointing out wildlife to see and to explain what we were seeing

Small boat cruise. The only way to go
Incredible experience. Loved the two days in Glacier Bay. That is why we picked this cruise.

- Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, from kitchen staff to guides, all were awesome. Loved the extracurricular activities. Could sit around on the boat if you wanted to, but plenty of things to do outside.. Loved the small boat experience, being able to get to places the floating hotels could not.

A great way to see the beauty of the inland waterway and glacers
The friendliness of the staff was excellent. We also met a great group of fellow sailing people.

- Everyone on the crew was first class. The ship was in excellent condition. Flexibility of where to anchor when some of the glaciers were not reachable because of ice flows..
