Grand Discovery is a 45-meter liveaboard (launched December 2025) offering accommodation for up to 36 guests across 24 cabins. This includes 18 air-conditioned twin cabins with en-suite bathrooms, as well as 4 elegant master suites on the high deck—2 of which are equipped with a minibar.

The Grand Discovery features a salon divided into a lounge with plush sofas and a fully stocked bar, and a separate dining space where guests enjoy buffet-style meals. Super worth it!
Great crew, great food. The promise of big fish should be kept a little smaller. It's nature and it can't be planned. Neither current nor fish... the tour suited me. They instructors are all very experienced, especially Abdul Ahmed has a great way. Quiet very experienced and great at teaching. I'll be back.

New boat with good food and crew
We had an enjoyable time on the liveaboard despite not seeing many sharks whilst diving. It could be off season. The food was amazing. My son took his advanced open water course and Khaleed took care of him so very well. The boat is new and comfortable. We loved the trip.

Beautiful surroundings, fabulous boat
The crew on board are so fantastic! Genuinely kind, funny, helpful, fun. From the cooks and mechanics to the team that helped me get fins on 3x day. The food is great, my cabin was fabulous with an amazing window. I do think this should be a minimum 30 dives trip, not 10. And heads up they don’t provide shampoo or anything so bring all your own toiletries!

An amazing experience from start to finish. Life on board was spectacular, both for the dive sites and for the organization, crew and atmosphere on board. The entire liveaboard experience was phenomenal. From the arrival to the airport waiting for pickup until the check-out after the liveaboard, everything was arranged to perfection. The crew was extremely helpful and friendly throughout the tour and were able to answer any questions and went above and beyond to accommodate any request. The route was perfect for the time of year as it wasn't quite the season for larger wildlife yet, for which all the wrecks (highlight: Thistlegorm!) made up for plenty. The rental gear was in top shape and looked well-maintained. The boat was brand new and very comfortable. The cabin was super nice as well. The food was incredible too: varied, fresh, and delicious throughout the week, compliments to the chefs on board!

All around a great experience
Our July 2026 trip aboard the Grand Discovery was fantastic. The vessel itself was very clean, comfortable, and well-designed with plenty of areas to relax. Onboard, we appreciated the filtered water stations, periodic Wi-Fi, yummy meals, and an incredibly friendly, hardworking crew. As a diver with 25 logged dives coming in, this trip offered a fun, rewarding challenge. Almost every dive required a negative entry, several were executed off the zodiac, and we encountered some strong currents. However, the dive masters were exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly, and safety-focused, ensuring everyone was thoroughly briefed and confident in handling the conditions. The marine life was incredible—we logged sightings of oceanic whitetips, hammerheads, and spotted eagle rays, all set against breathtakingly vibrant reefs. I highly recommend the Grand Discovery!

Amazing boat and crew
We saw sharks on almost every dive. Hammerhead, Threshershark and the white tip shark. One couple also saw a guitarshark. The crew was very helpfull and truly amazing and the diveguides did a very good job. Best liveaboard divetrip so far

Great boat, great crew and dive guides, great food!
Really a great dive boat with a superb crew. Dive briefings and guides were superb. Food delicious with many choices. Great snacks with fancy mocktails and juice after every dive. Cabins cleaned so well every day. Everything as great as possible. Only negative is out of control of crew - the timing of the trip in early September - the water was very warm - 30C - and so the sharks were not there. If you want to see sharks in Egypt, consider not diving in summer! We saw 2 hammerheads which was wonderful.

Top diving experience
Spent a fantastic week on the BDE route with Grand Discovery. Encountered both several hammerheads and Oceanic whitetip. The crew and dive guides were highly professional. The briefings were detailed and safety-oriented. The dive deck was greats with plenty of space and a great layout. Food, cabins, and onboard facilities (like the upper deck jacuzzi) were excellent. Will definitely choose Discovery Divers again!

Wonderful first experience in Egypt
As a first timer on a liveaboard I couldn’t have chosen a better boat! Incredible crew and dive guides, very attentive and professional, but also easygoing as if you were part from the first moment of their big family. Excellent planning in the BDE route, as they programmed some shallow dives to relax a little between all the deep dives (which are 90-95% of all the dives). Excellent, high quality food, consistent all through the duration of the liveaboard. Highly recommended even as your first liveaboard, but perhaps not exactly fit for beginners as strong current changes can occur and high buoyancy control is necessary in some of the dives

Great first Liveaboard experience
We had a great week on our first Liveaboard experience. The boat is very spacious (common areas e.g. relax areas, private room) and the crew was every moment there to help. Meals were great and tasty. Before every dive we received a clear diving briefing which was very helpful. Unfortunately, we didn't see as many sharks as we would have loved to. Not sure if it was just the week, the season or if we understood the marketing wrong. Two hammerheads for the whole week - which we are very greatful for (no mantas, dugongs etc). Of course we are aware that there can be never any guarantee. After each dive we had always enough time to relax and nap. We enjoyed the week a lot & the other guest were very fun.

Very good diving with a professional and friendly crew.
The service was top quality the whole time. The itinerary had to be changed due to a wind storm, but this is understandable (and desirable) because the captain and crew will always prioritize the safety of the passengers. The alternative itinerary was still enjoyable. The instructors were always present and coordinated every dive with great detail. I was hoping to see more sharks/pelagic in this itinerary, but this depends mostly on luck and the guides did their best to take us to the interesting locations. Food was not "mind blowing" (as I have experienced in other liveaboards) but the buffet was very abundant and varied so I can't really complain about it. The only coffee included is the "instant" kind, I would love to see brewed coffee as included. Dinner on the last night and breakfast on the last morning were included, this is a huge plus point when compared to other liveaboard operators who don't offer this. The ship is luxurious though I noticed the electricity shutting down a couple of times per day, this would last less than a minute so I guess it is not a big deal. The cabins are clean and comfortable. The crew was assisting me up until the moment I got on the (included) transportation to the airport. I recommend the experience and I would dive again with Discovery without thinking twice.

Crew and boat good, but hidden fees eh... makes it feel like money grab
I liked the boat it was spacious and a good vibe. One thing that bothered me was the hiddenfees in the end. Firstly with the tipping it was mandatory They had a list with your name.. I wouldn't of mind that much if they didn't charge me the whole week for a dive computer while I used for a day cause mine had problems. Also things like diesel... you know the route why is it a hidden fee?However with the diving I felt like we could enter the water earlier, we were always the last one in the water. When it comes to food there was plenty but I would of liked more variety and especially vegeterian options. The boat crew was super helpfull. Didn't speak english but it didn't matter, always smiling and friendly.

Nice new boat, no defective one, everything clean and intact. Rental equipment new and without defects at reasonable prices. Eat and drink well. Beer 3€. Crew incredibly friendly and accommodating. All processes smoothly, always on time, good diving spots.Groups much too big, 36 divers on 3 guides. Loungers on deck hard and uncomfortable, no beanbags or cushions available. Jacuzzi was only allowed to be used on the last evening.

Beautiful, modern & spacious boat with good crew and catering.
Had a wonderful week on board the grand discovery. Very nice, spacious and new boat. The crew was fantastic and everything was well arranged with good food. The only downside were the very large diving groups (10 people per guide).

Overall great experience. This was my first liveaboard and I could have not asked for more. Decided to do my AOWD as well which I did not regret at all. Dive guides, Malaak, Khaled and Ramadan did a great job, as well as the rest of the crew. Will Dede do a Discovery divers trip again in the next months.

Was my second liveaboard. The guides and crew were really great! They were always friendly, helpful and as soon as you get out of the water on the spot. They offer a varied menu and, above all, a lot of choice. The boat is not old yet and you can see that in the equipment. At the beginning I wasn't completely satisfied with the group composition, but we got together well. Although I was rebooked and had actually booked a smaller ship, it goes quite well on the big boat. (We were 30). Unfortunately, you can only use the jacuzzi when you are not diving. But we still used it on the last evening at the harbor. Which wasn't so cool. the excretions were emptied 2x directly at the reef (where you dive) from the boat. Smell was angular and if you went in again to dive in that was of course not so.

A fantastic week on the Red Sea
I did my liveaboard on the Grand Discovery in Hurghada and it was a wonderful experience overall.I would like to highlight my private dive guide Ramadan. It is absolutely recommended. His calm, patient and caring manner did me a lot of good. Especially when I was struggling with seasickness, he took care of me attentively and sensitively. I felt safe and well looked after at all times.The dive sites were all incredibly beautiful, every single dive had something special to offer and there was always a lot to see. The underwater world was impressive and varied.The entire crew was also always friendly, helpful and motivated. You could tell that everyone was passionate about their job. The food was top notch, varied, fresh and really lacked nothing.The only point of criticism: When cleaning the ship, the cleaning agents were discharged directly into the sea, and they were not environmentally friendly products. To be honest, that hurt me, because the beautiful sea is the basis for this work and should be specially protected.

Very nice discovery of the Red Sea. Boat, very comfortable, quality food and staff always taking care. The only thing missing was a more reliable internet connection when we went out to sea. There were sometimes a little too many of us in the diving groups.

Great first live aboard experience
The dive guides and experience was way better than I was expecting. Although we did not see any sharks, the diving experience was great and well planned. Im not sure how long the boat will last since it seems to have several issues for being new, but everything was addressed by the crew.
