The Grand Discovery features a salon divided into a lounge with plush sofas and a fully stocked bar, and a separate dining space where guests enjoy buffet-style meals. The cuisine onboard blends international and regional flavors, served in a friendly, social setting ideal for divers unwinding after an adventure-filled day. Additional relaxation areas include two shaded sundecks—one with a bar—and a skydeck with a Jacuzzi offering sweeping views. A large TV, music system, and a small library provide entertainment between dives.

These trips feature legendary sites like the SS Thistlegorm, Giannis D, SS Carnatic, and the reef-draped walls of Daedalus and Big Brother, home to sharks, gorgonians, and historic wrecks. A very nice experience
My week on board the Grand Discovery was an all-round success. A brand new boat (so new that it still had small teething problems. But it wasn't bad), great diving community and very helpful and attentive staff and the guides Khaled, Mohammed, Abdel and Ramadan, who were always there with a smile and an open ear. Thank you for the trip and all the best. I'll be back!

Okay diving but great boat and crew!
It is a great boat and crew. The dive guides were a little too professional and sounded very harsh and strict during briefings but were quite relaxed once you were in the water or zodiacs. Avoid booking your nitric course onboard as you don’t get any additional dives for 250Eur. The advertised hot tub did not work (we tried it at the last night) and was not allowed to be used( due to decompression sickness after diving). The water was really cold (January). Everyone was shaking and ending dives earlier because of that. It’s also heavy on your oxygen consumption so invest in additional warmth protection before. The reefs are amazing but we only saw oceanic white tips that we didn’t spend too much time with, because they are at the surface where the current was to strong. And got a glimpse of a fresher shark in the deep twice.

A great diving trip on a very comfortable boat
Our BDE tour took place in January 2026. Since the Grand Discovery was not launched until December 2025, this was one of the first safaris of the Grand Discover. The brand new boat is very spacious. It holds a maximum of 36 guests in 18 cabins, we were only 15 divers. So plenty of space for everyone. But because of the size, you probably have enough space when it's fully occupied. The dive deck and dive platform offer plenty of space, a charging station and fresh water tanks are of course available, as well as hot showers on the platform. The crew helps with dressing and undressing, you don't even have to unscrew the first step from the bottle yourself, that is also done. The cabins are reasonably sized. It is pleasant that the shower and toilet are separated from each other by a shower curtain. The air conditioning can be regulated in each cabin and can also be switched off completely. The cabins were cleaned daily and were always clean and well maintained. The kitchen crew conjured up a varied and excellent meal on the table. We were lucky with the weather, for January it was reasonably warm and not too windy. On the reefs, we were always the only liveaboard boat (!). At the Brothers we made a total of six dives and were 'greeted' by at least one Longimanus at the entrance. The two guides Peter and Mohamed also do a really good job. In a quite detailed briefing at the beginning of the trip, the various processes on the boat and in the water are explained. During the briefings for each dive, various plans are discussed, according to which the diving group then follows in case of possibly changing conditions. The two Zodiacs have ladders for boarding, which are used with the equipment (BDC with bottle). Divers who find the equipment too heavy to exit via the ladder will have their equipment removed in the water and brought onto the Zodiac so that the diver can use the ladder comfortably. All in all, an excellent trip, even if a few small things are still missing on the boat, such as sliding seating, beanbags or the like on the sun decks.I will definitely put the Grand Discovery on my 'wish list' for another safari.
