National Geographic Venture is a purpose-built expedition ship accommodating up to 100 guests in 50 comfortable cabins across four decks. Measuring 72.8 meters (239 feet), the vessel combines the intimate atmosphere of a small ship with a shallow draft, allowing it to navigate narrow channels, sheltered coves, and remote coastal areas that larger vessels cannot reach.
Between excursions, guests can relax in the lounge and library, enjoy panoramic views from the observation deck, browse the Global Gallery, or exercise in the fitness center. The partially covered sundeck provides additional outdoor space, while the mudroom offers individual lockers for expedition equipment. Guests are also welcome on the open bridge to speak with the officers and watch for wildlife. Meals featuring sustainable and locally sourced ingredients are served at a single, informal seating in the dining room.
National Geographic Venture follows the seasons along the western coast of North America, exploring Alaska’s Inside Passage, British Columbia, the San Juan Islands, California’s Channel Islands, Baja California, and Mexico’s Gulf of California. Selected voyages also navigate the Columbia River. Its expedition-focused design brings guests closer to glaciers, wildlife-rich shorelines, remote islands, and culturally significant coastal communities.
